Root is seeking a Staff Data Scientist I to lead lifetime value modeling across marketing, finance, product, and customer experience. You will guide a team of data scientists and partner with ML engineers to deploy robust production models.

You will own the technical direction, resolve complex modeling questions, and help shape quarterly priorities while contributing hands-on across the ML lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in Statistics, CS, Economics or related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of data science experience delivering high-impact models.
• Strong foundations in statistics, modeling, forecasting, design, validation.

Responsabilités

• Own the technical direction of LTV modeling and drive model improvements.
• Lead complex initiatives across conversion, retention, future-premium, and claim-loss models.
• Keep the LTV codebase healthy with modular design and tests.
• Stay hands-on across exploration, feature development, modeling, deployment, and monitoring.
• Design experiments and evaluation frameworks with clear success criteria.
