Job summary

Wachter, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking an experienced technician to install and maintain structured cabling systems, including Cat5/Cat6 and fiber optics. Ideal candidates should have 2-5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems and be comfortable leading small teams.

This position offers full-time hours with competitive pay ranging from $25 to $35 an hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and paid vacation.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and CCTV.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic termination, network infrastructure, and Point-of-Sale (POS) deployment/troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Must possess basic telecom tools and standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Comfortable working independently and leading small teams.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 weeks at a time) and work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, coax).
  • Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination inside IDF/MDF cabinets.
  • Install and configure CCTV and network devices.
  • Lead small teams on multi-week projects to ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and site maps.
  • Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts to work at heights up to 40+ feet.
  • Conduct system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
