Job summary

PMA is seeking a Referral Underwriter to lead and oversee multi-line underwriting, including casualty and loss sensitive deals, across the organization. The role collaborates on corporate risk strategy and handles high-level referrals beyond regional limits.

Ideal candidates will have extensive underwriting experience, CPCU/ARM designation preferred, and a strong ability to communicate and train others while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7 to 10 years of multi line underwriting with an insurance carrier, with large account, loss sensitive portfolio required.
• Knowledge of casualty coverage and loss sensitive deal structures (retrospective rating, large deductible).
• CPCU or Associate in Risk Management designation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee PMA's lines of coverage (WC, GL, Commercial Auto, Property and Umbrella).
• Collaborate on risk selection, pricing, risk appetite, and underwriting authority guidelines.
• Handle referrals from the field that exceed Regional Manager's Authority.
• Direct underwriting decision-making process for accounts outside manager's authority.
• Oversee Facultative Reinsurance transaction process and ensure proper documentation.
