Job summary

GXO is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer in New Jersey to support development and implementation of operational solutions across Solution Design, Implementation, and Operations. You will evaluate facility designs, staffing, and automation strategies, guiding site launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate on KPI reporting, cost models, and operational requirements, delivering practical, executable solutions while optimizing productivity and reducing costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 4+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement.
• Advanced analytical skills for data, processes, systems, and procedures.
• Experience with analytical and process improvement tools (flow charts, Pareto, cause-and-effect, run charts).
• Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain management or experience in warehouse production.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Warehousing and warehouse/supply chain processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Solutions Engineering to provide Operations input on productivity, layouts, staffing, and design elements.
• Provide SME on constraints, labor, system capabilities, and automation limits to develop practical solutions.
• Review KPIs, SLAs, contractual requirements, solution assumptions, and cost models; identify risks.
• Participate in Joint Planning Sessions with customers and Implementation teams to validate assumptions and requirements.
• Support Operations training and User Acceptance Testing; develop ramp plans based on forecasts.
• Develop and execute Production Readiness Test cases and escalate issues before go-live.
• Collaborate with Analytics to ensure KPI reporting before launch and handover to site Operations.
• Provide on-site support during implementation and site launches to verify alignment with design.
• Conduct Continuous Improvement analyses to identify cost savings and productivity gains.
• Develop business cases, lead CI projects, perform root-cause analysis, pilots, simulations, and other engineering efforts.
• Develop work instructions and update SOPs for consistent operations.
• Present analysis and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
