Job summary

Penske Logistics in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to lead hourly teams, oversee driver deliveries, loading/unloading, and cross-docking. You will monitor runs, costs, and customer requirements while driving safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and attention to detail. You will participate in hiring, manage schedules, review orders, and seek continuous improvements to meet service and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable; interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire; monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control; evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity; assist in new associate training; provide relief coverage for operational duties; ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control; understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability; closely manage associates' working hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Ensure day-to-day management aligns with location safety strategy; provide training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance; ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.
• Understand location-specific customer goals; ensure the customer knows we are committed to meeting objectives; identify areas for Continuous Improvement.
• Plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet/warehouse equipment; work with hourly associates to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
