Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet (DON) in Bremerton, WA seeks a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Engineering and Planning Department PSNS and IMF. The role requires leadership of the Logistics and Contracting Branch, planning ship maintenance logistics, and coordinating contractor work with internal teams.

Position is full-time with travel as needed. Telework eligibility is determined by agency policy; relocation expenses may be reimbursed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent performing logistics management for ship maintenance and modernization.

Responsibilities

• You will ensure that assigned surface ships and submarines completing availabilities will have the logistics and maintenance support that reflects the ship’s end of overhaul equipment configuration.
• You will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Logistics and Contracting Branch.
• You will plan and establish the work schedules, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work; coordinate and integrate contractor work schedules and processes with work of subordinates or others.
• You will review organization mission, functions, and manning; identify requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.
• You will identify and implement process improvements to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers in test processes, and to increase the quality of products delivered.
• You will assess and revise policies and procedures as needed to find ways to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work.
