Job summary

RigUp is seeking a Logistics Category Specialist to drive procurement, contracting, and supplier performance across freight forwarding, road transport, heavy haul, and warehousing. Qualifications

• 5 years minimum in procurement, category management, logistics, or supply chain.
• 8–10 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with freight forwarding, customs brokerage, marine or road transportation, heavy haul, warehousing, or 3PL.
• Strong knowledge of category management, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and negotiation.
• Experience developing total cost of ownership, should-cost analysis, market intelligence, and evaluation models.
• Understanding shipment planning, import/export processes, Incoterms, transport risk, and supplier performance metrics.
• Strong commercial, financial, and analytical skills for evaluating proposals and savings.
• Excellent project management, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management.
• Team player with customer focus and drive for results; experience with procurement systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics categories and suppliers across freight forwarding, road transport, heavy haul, warehousing, and 3PL services.
• Develop annual contracting and category plans aligned with priorities and market conditions.
• Conduct supply market analysis, benchmarking, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Lead or support end-to-end sourcing events, bid preparation, supplier evaluation, and contract implementation.
• Write and manage logistics contracts, rate schedules, SLAs, and commercial terms.
• Provide category support on freight strategies, import/export requirements, and route planning.
• Coordinate with project teams and suppliers to capture risks, assumptions, and mitigations.
• Monitor supplier performance via KPIs, scorecards, and governance; drive continuous improvement.
• Advise stakeholders on procurement, logistics, trade compliance, and Incoterms.
• Collaborate with regional/global managers to implement enterprise sourcing initiatives and sustainability programs.
