Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking a highly skilled Locksmith II to manage the master key system, key schedules, and access-control requirements for a major facility in Nevada. The role involves installing, maintaining, and modifying a wide range of locking devices, including electronic, high-security, and vault systems.

You will supervise lower-level locksmiths, provide training, and coordinate major projects while ensuring ADA compliance and safety standards across facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized locksmith apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level locksmithing experience; OR one year as Locksmith I in Nevada State service; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the master key system for a major facility.
• Develop keying schedules and records of keys issued.
• Meet with agency personnel to determine keying and access-control requirements.
• Install, maintain, repair, and modify locking devices and systems (including electronic and high-security locks).
• Repin locks, assign pin codes, cut keys, and change keyways as needed.
• Open and repair vaults and file cabinets; duplicate keys by code or equipment.
