Job summary

Applaudo is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to build production-grade LLM applications and agentic AI systems. You’ll design, implement, and optimize AI capabilities powering conversational experiences and intelligent workflows.

You will work on tool calling, multi-step orchestration, and integrating hosted LLM APIs like OpenAI and Anthropic, ensuring scalable, observable systems with strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong Python and software engineering practices.
• Strong SQL skills with cloud data warehouses.
• Hands-on production-grade LLM and agentic AI apps experience.
• Experience with tool calling, MCP servers, context management and orchestration.
• Experience integrating hosted LLM APIs (Anthropic/OpenAI) into production.
• Prompt engineering, versioning, fallback strategies, cost/latency optimization.
• Intent classification and routing for NLP apps.
• Experience building conversational AI or multi-API workflows.
• LLM evaluation methodologies and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain MCP servers, tool definitions, and context management.
• Design and implement intent evaluation, classification, and routing workflows.
• Integrate Anthropic and OpenAI models into production environments.
• Manage prompt versioning, fallback strategies, and LLM performance.
• Develop and maintain evaluation frameworks for model quality and production performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers and AI specialists to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to platform design.
• Continuously improve AI systems through experimentation and best practices.
