Job summary

Friendship Village in St. Louis is seeking a friendly Food Server for our Assisted Living and Memory Care dining rooms. You will be the main contact for residents, set tables, and help guests with menus.

You should enjoy geriatric care, be able to explain the menu, handle orders, and work closely with residents and staff to maintain a clean, organized dining area. Previous serving experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Experience serving tables in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining club is desirable.
• Ability to explain the menu and assist residents with selections.
• Ability to work with residents, guests, families, supervisors and peers with courtesy.
• English reading/writing skills and basic arithmetic required.
• Commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for resident interactions in the dining room.
• Prepare dining tables with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization.
• Attend to residents as they arrive in the dining area.
• Present menus and assist residents in choosing food and beverages.
• Take food and beverage orders and relay to kitchen staff promptly.
• Deliver and serve food and beverages and verify correct items.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen areas.
• Assist in transporting food to dining areas or resident rooms.
