Job summary

Merrill Gardens is seeking a Senior Living Prep Cook for its Truewood by Merrill community in Ocean Springs, MS. The role supports residents by preparing quality meals that meet dietary needs in a timely, safe kitchen environment.

As a full-time prep cook, you will follow recipes, participate in meetings, and help maintain sanitation standards while delivering daily meals with care and dignity to our senior residents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality food preparation experience.
• Scratch cooking experience in high-volume settings.
• Proficient with MS Outlook and Word.
• 1 year of dining-related food preparation experience.
• High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing all food items following recipes and procedures.
• Prepares items in a timely fashion using batch-cooking or cook-to-order methods.
• Maintains food safety and preserves nutrients to meet dietary needs.
• Attends dining services meetings and in-service trainings.
• Maintains kitchen sanitation and safety standards; cleans and sanitizes work areas.
