Job summary

Merrill Gardens at West Chester is seeking a Prep Cook to support residents in a senior living community. You will assist in preparing a variety of meals, follow recipes, and ensure food safety and quality during production. This role emphasizes batch cooking, timely service, and adherence to dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality food preparation.
• Experience in scratch cooking in high-volume, fine dining setting.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, etc.).
• 1 year previous dining experience in food preparation.
• High School diploma or GED; college degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing all food items following production amounts, recipes, and procedures.
• Ensure timely preparation of all food items; use batch-cooking and cook-to-order methods as appropriate.
• Prepare food to meet dietary requirements and maintain nutrient quality.
• Attend regularly scheduled dining services meetings and trainings.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards; clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
• Maintain temperature records and following company policy.
