Job summary

LCS invites applicants for a Senior Living Management internship in Des Moines, IA. This full-time 40-hour/week, 12-week program runs May through August, supporting the Executive Director and Senior Leadership with administrative duties and special projects.

Participants gain skills in interviewing, presentations, and performance evaluation to prepare for the job market. The program emphasizes hospitality, professional growth, and hands-on exposure to senior living operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years completed towards bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program majoring in Healthcare Management, Business, Nursing, Geriatrics, or related program.
• Exposure to hospitality or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend department head meetings, care plan meetings, health center stand-up meetings and board meetings as requested.
• Conduct weekly environmental rounds (plant, kitchen, environmental services).
• Assist Administrator in preparing for yearly fire-safety and resident care survey inspections.
• Conduct audits on Health Center documentation (resident charts, MARs, TARs, pain assessments).
• Attend interviews, trainings and personnel meetings.
• Attend marketing events as requested by the Executive Director.
• Prepare monthly financial variance reports for the Executive Director.
• Complete a variety of projects as prescribed by the Executive Director.
