Job summary

Charter Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance / Environmental Services Assistant to help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments for residents. The role supports the Environmental Services Director with day-to-day maintenance, safety, and appearance of the community, including apartments, common areas, grounds, and transportation services.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, team-oriented, and passionate about serving seniors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, environmental services, facilities, transportation, or senior living experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repair work, and safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to operate community transportation vehicles.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, resident-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the community.
• Support upkeep of resident apartments, common areas, grounds, and equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the community.
• Safely operate and maintain community vehicles and transportation equipment.
• Drive the community van for resident transportation and outings as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and community needs.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and other departments.
• Build positive relationships with residents and provide excellent customer service.
