Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in keeping the community well-maintained and safe. Responsibilities include completing work orders, maintaining facilities and equipment, and conducting daily inspections to protect residents and staff.

Ideal candidates have 6 months of residential maintenance experience, with skills in HVAC, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and sheet rock, plus a solid understanding of safety practices.

Qualifications

• 6 months of work experience in a position handling residential maintenance items.
• Experience with sheet rock, carpentry, plumbing, painting, changing light fixtures, and general building maintenance.
• Thorough understanding of building and fire safety.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate in English with residents, family, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders as requested by the Maintenance Director: changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, holes in sheet rock, and other general maintenance duties.
• Maintain all community areas including grounds, fences, parking areas, and common facilities.
• Maintain service equipment, tools, and kitchen equipment; track repairs in the work order system.
• Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment; promote resident safety by identifying hazards.
• Support management with additional duties as assigned.
