Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is seeking a General Services Coordinator for Opus Select, a 170-unit senior living community in Virginia Beach. The role oversees maintenance operations, manages staff, and coordinates vendors to maintain a safe, compliant, and resident-focused living environment.

The candidate will lead preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and participate in resident meetings while ensuring regulatory compliance and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of multifamily property maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance reports.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance, repair, and operation of residential units, common areas, grounds, and building systems.
• Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and other building systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs and conduct routine property inspections.
• Coordinate apartment turnovers and ensure vacant units are prepared for occupancy.
• Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of the community.
• Track maintenance activities, KPIs, and departmental records.
• Manage capital improvement projects with clear communication to residents and leadership.
