Job summary

Glenwood Community at United Church Homes, Inc. is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain sanitary and safe environments. You will clean and disinfect resident rooms, common areas, and support spaces while following scheduling and safety protocols.

The role requires basic English proficiency, reliable attendance, and the ability to operate housekeeping equipment. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred, and collaboration with staff and residents is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of related housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must read, write, understand and speak English.
• Must be able to operate/use basic housekeeping equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Performs general housekeeping duties in offices, resident rooms, restrooms, activity room, kitchen restroom, service entrance and therapy room, entrances and exits, utility areas, closets, lounges, breakrooms, lobbies and halls.
• Cleans, dusts, washes, and disinfects fixtures, floors, walls, doors and ceilings as required.
• Replenishes soap and towels, empties waste baskets, and maintains orderly spaces.
• Oversees terminal cleaning in resident rooms after discharge or transfer and prepares rooms for new occupants.
• Assists in inventory processes and follows safety guidelines.
