Job summary

Plum Creek Chicago is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Janitor to join our team in Chicago, IL. You will help maintain resident and community spaces while providing friendly, respectful service to residents, families, visitors, and team members in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

This full-time role requires daytime Sunday–Thursday shifts, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred.
• Senior living, healthcare, or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, restrooms, dining areas, and other community spaces
• Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and other housekeeping duties
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the community
• Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment
• Monitor inventory of housekeeping supplies and communicate when additional supplies are needed
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to the appropriate team member
• Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs as needed
• Follow established infection control, safety, and cleaning procedures
• Provide friendly, respectful, and professional service to residents, families, visitors, and team members
• Assist with additional housekeeping or janitorial duties as assigned
