Job summary

The Ivy at Wellington, managed by Oakmont Management Group, seeks a Maintenance Director to lead the general maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community’s physical plant. You will oversee maintenance and housekeeping operations to keep the property safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Key duties include hands-on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and equipment upkeep, plus daily exterior inspections and ensuring tour-readiness while adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer two (2) years experience in the building industry, maintenance and/or housekeeping handling upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
• Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mechanical ability and capability to work on equipment such as washers, dryers, refrigeration and heating units, ice machines, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, carpentry and painting.
• Electrical duties: troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues including switches, lighting, outlets, and resident call systems.
• Structural duties: planning, ordering, and installing cabinets; carpentry repairs to walls and structures.
• Painting duties: planning, ordering, and performing painting; proper disposal of paints and solvents.
• Plumbing duties: planning and performing minor plumbing problems including faucets and drains.
• Conduct daily inspection of the property’s outside grounds and address items to ensure tour-readiness.
