Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Virginia Beach is seeking a full-time Dining Services Director to lead all aspects of foodservice for the community, including staff hiring, training, and supervision. You will ensure sanitation, budget adherence, and award-level meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs.

You'll collaborate with the maintenance and wellness teams, manage menus, and conduct monthly resident food committees, while upholding regulatory requirements and exceptional resident service.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Service Manager Certificate and meet regulatory requirements.
• Experience in dining services with management/leadership.
• High school diploma required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Good leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Knowledge of nutritional needs of assisted living residents.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dining services staff including hiring, training, and evaluating.
• Ensures sanitation and safety in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Plans monthly menus tailored to residents' dietary needs.
• Maintains menus records and inventory with budgets.
• Directs food preparation for residents, associates, and guests.
• Conducts monthly resident food committee meetings.
• Trains staff and conducts in-service sessions.
