Job summary

Western States Lodging & Management is seeking a Dining Room Server to create meaningful moments for residents each day. You will warmly welcome guests, assist with seating, take orders, and deliver meals with attentive service in a well-maintained dining area.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 0–1 year in dining or customer service, and a ServeSafe/food handler certification as required by the state.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0–1 year of experience; previous dining or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServeSafe Certification in the state you are applying in.
• Basic customer service skills and a pleasant, welcoming personality.
• Patience and willingness to work with and care for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, structured environment.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with table setup, cleanliness, and food service.
• Ability to follow instructions, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome residents and guests into the dining room with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Assist residents and guests with seating and provide menus.
• Take resident food orders and serve meals in a polished, attentive manner.
• Communicate with residents throughout their dining experience to ensure they are satisfied with their food and service.
• Set, clear, and reset dining tables promptly and efficiently.
• Refill beverages and ensure condiments and other dining supplies are stocked.
• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the dining room.
• Wipe down tables, chairs, and other dining surfaces as needed.
• Follow all company food-handling, safety, sanitation, infection control, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Maintain required hygiene and appearance standards.
• Communicate positively and professionally with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
