Senior Lifestyle in Illinois is seeking a warm, detail-oriented cook to prepare meals for residents, guests and staff, following daily planners and standard recipes, and to work the food line during mealtimes.

You will ensure food safety and sanitation, respond quickly to resident needs, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor with residents and co-workers. Prior production cooking and therapy diet experience is preferred, with English communication and basic computer skills required.

Qualifications

• Experience in production cooking and/or preparing therapeutic diets is preferred.
• Clear, effective English communication is required.
• Willingness to obtain food handling and sanitation licenses.
• Basic computer skills; entry-level Excel and Word proficiency.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Responsabilités

• Prepare all food using the daily planner and SLC standard recipes.
• Work the food line during mealtimes.
• Ensure that all food meets safety guidelines and that all kitchen areas meet sanitation guidelines.
• Ensure resident and guest satisfaction by responding quickly to needs and requests.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers.
