California Armenian Home in Fresno, CA is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs. The role emphasizes food safety, sanitation, and adherence to regulations while delivering a warm dining experience.

The ideal candidate has a focus on quality, professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a senior living setting. A ServSafe certificate and culinary training are valued assets.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of professional cooking experience preferred.
• Current ServSafe Food Handler certificate required.
• Formal culinary training, basic coursework, or equivalent experience highly preferred.
• Experience in assisted living or long-term care is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling.
• Ability to accommodate specialized diets and textures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and math skills.
• Professional, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift items as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare hot and cold food items following recipes and portions.
• Prepare meals for daily dining services, events, and functions.
• Ensure meals meet dietary needs and modified textures.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Follow food safety protocols and proper storage/temperature controls.
• Monitor supplies, assist with inventory, and restock as needed.
• Complete required documentation and logs accurately and timely.
• Assist with training new kitchen staff on procedures and safety.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and department activities.
• Follow emergency procedures and assist with evacuations when necessary.
• Collaborate with dietary team for efficient kitchen operations.
• Perform other duties to support Food Services Department.
