Qualifications

• Experience cooking in healthcare, senior living, restaurant, or institutional settings.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary requirements.
• Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets and special dietary needs.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with meal service and ensure meals are served on time.
• Store, label and rotate food and supplies.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Keep kitchen and prep areas clean and sanitary.
• Follow infection control and workplace safety procedures.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and care team.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents.
