Job summary

Clearwater Living is seeking a Cook in Oxnard, CA to prepare high-quality meals for residents, guests, and staff. You will follow provided recipes and menus, ensure proper temperature and presentation, and maintain kitchen and dining areas in a clean, compliant environment.

Responsibilities include menu execution, food safety compliance, inventory prep, and potential supervision of dishwashers in the absence of Culinary Management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Background clearances as required by government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items in accordance with planned menus and recipes to ensure meals are appetizing and meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and properly charted.
• Maintain proper plate presentation for all dishes.
• Consult with the Chef on menu changes or substitutions.
• Keep kitchen storage areas clean and organized at all times.
• Prepare food in compliance with governmental, sanitary, and dietitian regulations and internal policies.
• Process food orders promptly when they arrive.
• Dispose of food and waste per policy.
• Label, store, and date leftovers correctly.
• Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• May supervise dishwashers in the absence of Culinary Management.
• Prepare upcoming items ensuring stock and prep per recipes.
• Safely store and use kitchen inventory items.
• Report issues to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.
• Wear proper uniform and name tag; project Clearwater Living values.
• Represent Clearwater Living principles daily and maintain a professional image.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
