Job summary

The Summit of Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our full-time dining team and deliver wholesome, scratch-made meals for our residents. You will work a schedule that includes every other weekend, partnering with our dining services staff to maintain high culinary standards.

Responsibilities include prep, portion control, accurate temperature checks, proper labeling, and keeping a clean, safe kitchen. Prior assisted living experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years cooking experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.
• Serv-Safe Certification preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items using high quality ingredients and appropriate garnishes.
• Use recipes and correct portion sizes to provide a consistent product while controlling costs.
• Record and monitor food temperatures during storage, preparation, cooking, and serving.
• Label, date, and properly store all foods.
• Monitor temperatures of all kitchen refrigerators and freezers daily.
• Follow established safety procedures while operating kitchen equipment.
• Responsible for storage of items received from vendors.
