Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a reliable Cook to support our culinary team in a senior living community in Dubuque, IA. The role focuses on meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and assisting the Culinary Coordinator to deliver high-quality dining experiences for residents and staff.

Requires 2+ years culinary/hospitality experience, ability to follow recipes, strong teamwork, and a calm, service-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of culinary or hospitality experience.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain sanitation.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to menu and recipes.
• Assist in dining room service and maintain dining areas.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen and dining spaces per schedule.
• Uphold food safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Supervise food requisitions, inventory, and rotation when supervisor absent.
• Support Culinary/Resident Assistants in food preparation and dining tasks.
• Report safety issues and complete relevant documentation.
