Overlook Village Senior Living in Moline, IL is seeking a Cook to independently prepare meals and manage food production, supporting the Sous or Executive Chef in maintaining high quality and safety standards.

You will prepare a variety of meals for residents, adapt recipes for special dining needs, ensure attractive presentation, report supplies for upcoming menus, participate in menu planning, and help with kitchen cleanliness and infection-control practices.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation.
• Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents or to improve recipes.
• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next week's menus and report to the supervisor.
• Participate in new menu and special menu planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed.
• Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
• Record Ready - to - Use - food items into the TELS website.
