Job summary

The Aspenwood Company - The Village of Southampton in Village of Southampton, a senior living community, is looking for a Cook who can prepare a variety of meals from fresh ingredients and adhere to residents' dietary needs, delivering tasty, well-presented dishes.

This role offers both full‑time and part‑time hours, weekend and holiday availability, and a benefits package including 401K with matching, PTO, healthcare options, and more. Pay is $16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; culinary training is a plus.
• Accredited food handler certification within 60 days per state guidelines.
• 6 months to 1 year of cooking experience.
• Experience with cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• Knowledge of grilling, baking, boiling, and other cooking methods.
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to recipes.
• Adhere to residents' dietary needs and restrictions.
• Monitor food quality, temperature and taste.
• Use utensils and grills to cook and stir/turn food.
• Dress dishes for presentation before serving.
• Keep kitchen sanitized and orderly; clean and turn off equipment at close.
• Store food properly to maintain freshness and safety.
• Check ingredient quality and stock levels; place shortages orders with supervision.
• Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines and document accordingly.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene.
• Attend required in-service training.
• Be active in the community’s emergency response team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
