Job summary

Clarendale of Algonquin is seeking a hospitality-focused Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare high-quality meals for residents, families and guests, working with the team to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.

The role requires a high school diploma; a culinary degree is preferred, with at least one year of restaurant or senior living cooking experience and batch cooking expertise. Pay ranges from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience preferred.
• Batch cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce food options from our menu in a manner compliant with required nutritional/dietary criteria.
• Correctly prepare meals for residents with dietary restrictions, following our policies and procedures.
• Exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization in the workspace and with equipment.
• Meet food quality, timeliness, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
• Interact with residents periodically to gather feedback about meal quality/temperature/appearance and share feedback with culinary team to support continuous improvement.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner with colleagues, residents, families and tours.
