Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living is seeking compassionate Resident Service Assistants/Home Health Aides to provide hands-on care in a respectful and dignified manner for residents who call The Bristal home.

Responsibilities include ADL assistance, escorting residents to meals and activities, and supporting residents’ physical, emotional and psycho-social well-being. Must be able to read and speak English, with a focus on reliability and kindness.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide credentials.
• Experience with Alzheimer's/dementia is a plus.
• Must be able to speak and read English.
• Geriatric population experience preferred, with ADL assistance.
• Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines.
• Basic understanding of dementia; patient and professional in redirecting residents.
• Ability to adapt to different personalities and situations positively.
• Must be reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor.
• Respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents manage Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Escorting residents to meals and recreational activities.
• Supporting residents in achieving their highest level of physical, emotional and psycho-social well‑being.
• Helping out as needed in the Wellness area to ensure safety, comfort and wellbeing.
• Following all policies and procedures, and adhering to the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness.
