Salter Healthcare is seeking an Activities Assistant to join a family-like team dedicated to enriching residents' daily lives. The role involves developing recreational programs and guiding residents through events and outings in a welcoming community setting.

Newly adjusted competitive wages are offered. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with seniors is preferred, with flexible hours/rotations as described.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors preferred.
• Must be able to work hours/rotation as described above.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events to meet the needs of residents.
• Supports, encourages, and motivates residents to attend activities.
• Transports residents to and from activities as needed.
• Accompanies residents to special events and trips outside the facility.
• Facilitates the activity and is always aware of all residents.
• Cleans up after each activity and readies for the next activity.
• Assembles, dismantles, and stores equipment and supplies used in the recreation program.
• Communicates with families as necessary and encourages their involvement.
