Discovery Senior Living is seeking an Activities & Events Coordinator for a part-time role based at 1515 Barrington Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. The position involves enriching seniors’ lives through engaging programs and events, with a 15-hour weekly schedule and driving a community bus if needed.

The role requires coordinating diverse activities, working with residents and staff to create meaningful experiences, and maintaining smooth event operations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• One to three years of experience in assisted living, long-term care, or exposure to the senior population.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with residents.
• Ability to inspire, encourage, and motivate older adults.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic computer skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to collaborate and build consensus.

Responsabilités

• Assist in planning and overseeing a diverse calendar of resident activities and events.
• Coordinate and lead community programs, ensuring seamless execution from set-up through clean-up.
• Partner with team members and residents to create meaningful experiences that promote engagement and joy.
• Encourage resident participation, adapting activities to meet a variety of interests and abilities.
• Maintain accurate scheduling and organization of events, ensuring timely communication and preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.
