Qualifications

• Demonstrates core values: love, kindness, honesty, fairness, respect.
• Education: two years of college from an accredited institution preferred.
• Experience: minimum 6 months; 2+ years preferred.
• Knowledge: wellness for older adults; leadership, organization, budgeting.
• Other: caring attitude, empathy, creativity, enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Organize programs for group and individual activities based on residents' needs and wants.
• Maintain a balance of recreational activities (physical, social, religious, diversional, intellectual, creative).
• Coordinate Residents Council and other resident committees or meetings.
• Ensure daily group activities are carried out and resident engagement is high.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and communicate programs to residents, families, volunteers, and staff.
• Recruit, orient, and supervise volunteers; maintain records of programs and needs.
• Participate in community planning and arrange use of outside facilities for residents.
• Provide in-service training for staff on activity programs and related topics.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist residents on outings using company vehicles.
