Job summary

Deer Park Health and Rehab is seeking a dependable Activities Assistant to engage residents with meaningful daily and group activities. You will help create calendars, prepare materials, and provide companionship to residents during activities and leisure time.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and a compassionate, energetic personality. Part-time schedule includes two days per week, 12p-8p, with weekend flexibility and a wage based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic and compassionate personality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and delivery of daily group and individual activities.
• Create monthly activity calendars and prepare materials.
• Encourage resident participation and provide companionship during activities.
• Safely transport and assist residents to activity areas.
• Maintain attendance records and document participation.
• Support events, holidays, and outings.
• Set up and clean activity areas.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, volunteers, and families.
• Uphold a positive environment for residents.
