Job summary

Heritage Ministries is seeking an ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT to deliver a program addressing the spiritual, social, recreational, and educational needs of residents. You will lead activities, assist in planning, and help recruit residents for activity programs within the facility.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with geriatric populations or recreational settings is desirable; you must be able to lift 60 pounds and handle multiple tasks

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/TASC required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience working with the geriatric population and/or in a recreational setting is preferred.
• Ability to lift over 60 pounds, stand, walk, sit, bend, and twist.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks and assignments.
• Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with staff, residents, vendors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Leads group and one-on-one activities as directed by the Activity Director.
• Assists in planning activity program for residents.
• Assists in recruiting residents for activity programs, resident council, etc.
• Transport residents to and from activities, meals, and appointments.
• Accompanies residents to activity programs outside the facility.
• Assesses resident needs and develops goals and approaches to any identified problems.

Education

High School Diploma or GED/TASC
