Job summary
Sonoma State University is seeking a Lighting Designer to provide live lighting support at the Green Music Center and on campus events. The role includes rigging lights, programming professional digital consoles, and assisting with stage changes before and during performances.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in lighting, video, and audio services, with strong knowledge of rigging and wiring, plus the ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Ten years of experience providing live lighting, video and audio for indoor/outdoor events and performances.
- In-depth knowledge of lighting consoles and related rigging hardware.
- Experience with stage wiring, patching, and projection setups is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide live lighting support including setup and rigging of lights.
- Wiring and focus of lights; program/operate professional digital lighting consoles.
- Assist with stage changes before and during performances.
- Provide backup live audio wiring and patching.
- Assist with rigging and wiring of indoor/outdoor PAs.
- Setup and operate video equipment and streaming gear.
- Handle amplified sound setup for live performances.
- Use lighting, video and audio software/hardware for recording and postproduction.
