Job summary

Sonoma State University seeks a Lighting Designer (Performing Arts Technician III) to provide live lighting, video and audio support for events at Green Music Center and campus venues. You will rig, patch, program, and operate lighting consoles, assist with stage changes, and support video/streaming and sound needs for performances.

The role requires extensive experience, on-site work across indoor/outdoor venues, and availability for evenings, weekends, and overtime. CSU benefits apply.

Qualifications

Ten years of responsible live lighting, video and audio experience.
Knowledge of lighting consoles and related equipment.
Membership in professional Audio/Theatrical organizations desired.

Responsibilities

Provide live lighting support including setup/rigging and focus of lights.
Program and operate professional digital lighting consoles.
Serve as a stagehand and assist with stage changes before and during performances.
Provide backup support for live audio including wiring, patching and rigging of PAs (indoor/outdoor).
Provide live video support including setup and operating video and streaming equipment.
Support amplified sound setup, rigging, recording and postproduction tasks.
