Job summary

Oak View Group's Moody Center in Austin, TX seeks an Event Accountant to manage end-to-end event accounting, including settlements, revenue, expenses, and flash reports. This role will coordinate closely with promoters, tour accountants, Event Managers, and Ticket Operations to ensure timely submission of settlements and accurate event P&L.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar focus; MBA/CPA a plus.
• 4+ years of related experience at a Sports & Entertainment Arena.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and late nights based on event schedule.
• Superior Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly, be open to change, and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment and handle multiple tasks with the ability to re-prioritize and shift priorities quickly.
• Strong communication skills-ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Event settlements for approximately 100 publicly ticketed events (night of show), 38 UT basketball games, and multiple Private Events.
• Work directly with the event promoter and tour accountant to ensure timely submission of publicly ticketed pre-event settlement and final on-site night-of-show event settlement.
• Work with Event Managers and Ticket Operations to ensure timely receipt of event expenses and ticket revenue reporting.
• Prepare and distribute flash reports within 48-72 hours.
• Create and post event journal entries.
• Review event P&L for accuracy.
• Compare the actual event P&L vs. budget.
• Order and coordinate delivery of cash requested by Promoter.
• Prepare event-related tax filings, which may include Form 1042 for Foreign Entertainer withholding.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close.
• Participates in other duties and special projects as assigned.
