Job summary

Curated Events seeks an experienced Audio Engineer to deliver high-quality live sound across venues. You will lead system setup, tuning, and operation, collaborating with artists, engineers, and clients to ensure optimal audience experience.

The role requires proficiency with multiple consoles, strong signal-flow knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure while supporting a fast-paced production team. Evenings, nights, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or related field preferred; relevant experience valued.
• 5+ years of live audio engineer experience across concerts, festivals, corporate events, theaters, etc.
• Expertise with a variety of mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, DiGiCo, Midas).
• Strong understanding of signal flow, gain structure, EQ, dynamics processing, and FX.
• Proficiency with digital and analog systems, including Dante, AVB, AES50.
• Experience with stage monitoring, IEMs, and RF coordination.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure and adapt to changing live environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of acoustics and sound design principles.
• Familiarity with live sound software (Smaart, QLab).
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings/nights, and weekends.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction, placement, tuning, operation, and strike of audio systems for events.
• Participate in pre-production preparation, QC, and inventory pull.
• Maintain safety as top priority and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise, train, and mentor audio technicians and support staff.
• Specify audio systems appropriate for artists, venues, and audiences.
• Specify components for complete installation of audio systems.
• Communicate effectively with clients, artists, engineers, and representatives.
• Operate consoles and implement advanced patching schemes as needed.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Develop stage/input plots and model audio systems with software.
• Determine hang points for speakers and manage time-delay audio systems.
• Coordinate RF operations and related duties.
