Job summary

Sweet James Accident Attorneys, a rapidly growing personal injury firm, seeks a Team Lead to run a pod of attorneys with paralegal support. You’ll own strategy, oversee case portfolios, and handle the most complex matters such as expert discovery and high-value depositions.

You will coach associates, lead teams, and report weekly to litigation leadership while ensuring Cases progress, compliance, and a strong client focus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and an active license to practice law in the state where the role sits.
• Five or more years of civil litigation experience, including plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Experience as lead counsel owning PI files from start to finish.
• Experience preparing cases for trial.
• Expert discovery experience: taking defense depositions and defending experts.
• Mediation experience driving the process end to end.
• Ability to lead by example, delegate, and develop junior attorneys.
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of how PI cases are valued.

Responsibilities

• Review every new case with the team, set strategy and goals, and identify work.
• Prioritize the portfolio: build high-value cases and settle others.
• Conduct introductory calls with new clients and own relationships on large cases.
• Draft complaints and ensure correct parties are named within the statute of limitations.
• Own expert discovery: designate and manage experts and conduct depositions.
• Take and defend key depositions across high-value cases.
• Prepare and attend high-value mediations; negotiate within authority.
• Prepare and try cases with Associates supporting.
• Set and track weekly demand cadence and prepare large-file demands.
• Review filings for court compliance and AI-use policy adherence.
• Lead the team: meetings, coaching, conflict resolution, and weekly status reports.
