Job summary

Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, PC Employment Attorneys in Chatham is seeking a seasoned Paralegal to provide litigation, administrative and legal support to our attorneys. This hybrid role requires in‑office presence in the Chatham office at least two days per week, with flexibility for additional days as needed.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, preparing documents for depositions, organizing exhibits, handling discovery, redaction and Bates stamping, researching public records, and tracking

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of Paralegal experience.
• Strong understanding of law firm procedures and requirements.
• Strong understanding of relevant court rules.
• Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare indexes and chronologies of produced documents.
• Draft legal documents including answers to complaints, motions, certifications, etc.
• Review and gather relevant documents for motions and court submissions.
• Organize exhibits for pleadings and file pleadings with the State and Federal Courts.
• Assist with drafting Discovery, Interrogatories, Document Requests, Requests for Admissions, Subpoenas, etc.
• Organize and coordinate document productions (Bates stamping and redaction).
• Prepare and maintain Privilege Logs.
• Prepare documents for Depositions and summarize Deposition Transcripts for use by attorneys.
• Research relevant information on public records, witnesses, adversaries, arbitrators, mediators, etc.
• Filings and updates to electronic document systems and portals maintained by clients.
• Assist with drafting letters to clients and settlement agreements.
• Prepare Mediation Submissions and organize and track documents received from clients and the Court.
• Conduct computerized and legal research (Internet, Westlaw).
• Conduct E-Discovery searches and uploads.
• Format Table of Contents/Table of Authorities.
• Proofread and edit documents for grammar, content and redactions.
• Track and calendar deadlines, court dates, and document submissions.
• High level Trial preparation and support, as needed.
• Litigation Secretarial support as needed.
• Unplanned activities – other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
