We are seeking a highly autonomous and technically proficient Senior Litigation Paralegal to take ownership of our docketing, case management, and court filing operations.

Role Overview

The Senior Litigation Paralegal will serve as the operational backbone of our active litigation docket. You will act as the gatekeeper for all statutory deadlines, court filings, and case management software operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment and possesses absolute mastery of state and federal e-filing systems, specifically in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Core Responsibilities

• Docket & Deadline Management: Calculate, calendar, and rigorously track all statutes of limitations, discovery deadlines, and court appearances across multiple jurisdictions.
• Electronic Filing: Execute flawless electronic filings in Maryland (MDEC), the District of Columbia (eFiling), and Federal Courts (CM/ECF).
• Systems Administration: Serve as the primary internal administrator for Filevine and Lead Docket, ensuring all case files, contacts, and litigation milestones are accurately updated in real-time.
• Pleading & Correspondence Preparation: Format, proofread, and finalize legal pleadings, discovery requests, and formal correspondence drafted by the founding principal and contract attorneys.
• Local Counsel Coordination: Liaise directly with co-counsel across various jurisdictions (including MD, VA, and OH) to ensure seamless local filings and compliance with local jurisdictional rules.
• Workflow Integration: Collaborate with the founding principal to implement and refine AI-driven workflows for case evaluation, document management, and litigation tracking.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with a strict requirement of background in complex personal injury, medical malpractice, or wrongful death litigation.
• Filing Mastery: Demonstrated, hands-on expertise with MDEC, CM/ECF, and D.C. Superior Court filing portals.
• Software Proficiency: Prior advanced experience with Filevine and Lead Docket is highly preferred. Must be highly adaptable to new legal technologies and automated workflows.
• Attention to Detail: Zero-defect mentality regarding procedural rules, formatting, and deadline calculation.
• Self-Starter: Ability to manage a high-volume docket independently without requiring micromanagement of daily administrative tasks.
