Job summary

Verital partners with a national law firm to hire a Senior Litigation Paralegal for its Chicago office. This high-visibility role supports partners and associates on complex commercial litigation from pleadings through trial and appeal.

You will manage case files, draft pleadings and motions, coordinate with e-discovery vendors, prepare materials for depositions and trials, and provide on-site trial support while mentoring junior staff and standardizing workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally at a large firm.
• Deep working knowledge of federal and state procedural rules.
• Hands-on trial experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage case files and calendars across multiple matters in state and federal court.
• Draft and cite-check pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and letters.
• Lead document productions and coordinate with e-discovery vendors and teams.
• Prepare deposition, hearing, and trial materials including exhibit lists and binders.
• Provide on-site trial support and manage trial logistics.
• Handle e-filing and service in Cook County and the Northern District of Illinois.
• Mentor junior paralegals and help standardize workflows.

Senior Litigation Paralegal | Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Verital is partnering with a nationally recognized law firm to hire a Senior Litigation Paralegal for its Chicago office. This is a high-visibility seat supporting partners and associates on complex commercial litigation, from initial pleadings through trial and appeal.

What you'll do

• Manage case files and litigation calendars across multiple active matters in state and federal court
• Draft and cite-check pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
• Lead document productions and coordinate with e-discovery vendors and litigation support teams
• Prepare deposition, hearing, and trial materials, including exhibit lists, witness binders, and demonstratives
• Provide on-site trial support and manage logistics for trial teams
• Handle e-filing and service in the Circuit Court of Cook County, the Northern District of Illinois, and other jurisdictions
• Mentor junior paralegals and help standardize case management workflows

What you bring

• 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally at an AmLaw 200 or large regional firm
• Deep working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Illinois Supreme Court Rules, and N.D. Ill. local rules
• Hands-on trial experience
• Proficiency with Relativity (or similar review platforms), CompuLaw or similar docketing tools, and Westlaw or Lexis
• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines across several partners
