Responsibilities

• Delegate assignments, establish priorities, and ensure deadlines and work-product standards are met.

Job description

A leading national plaintiffs’ firm focused exclusively on representing survivors of sexual abuse is seeking an experienced civil litigator to lead its New York City team.

This is an opportunity to practice sophisticated, meaningful litigation without billable-hour requirements—and to do well professionally while doing genuinely important work.

The Team Lead will manage an active civil-litigation caseload while supervising a multidisciplinary team that includes an associate attorney, paralegal, legal assistant, and investigator. The position requires strong litigation judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead with both accountability and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex civil sexual-abuse and institutional-liability matters from intake through resolution or trial
• Develop case strategy and oversee discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert work, mediation, and trial preparation

Qualifications

• A strong foundation in discovery, depositions, motion practice, case strategy, and courtroom advocacy
• Plaintiffs’ litigation or personal-injury experience is preferred but not required
• Prior supervisory, mentoring, or team-lead experience is strongly valued
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• The judgment and emotional intelligence necessary to work effectively with survivors and their families
• Ability and willingness to work fully in-office in Midtown Manhattan

The firm is open to accomplished litigators from a variety of civil-litigation backgrounds. Direct sexual-abuse, plaintiffs’ personal-injury, or institutional-liability experience is helpful, but it is not required. The priority is a strong litigator who can learn the practice area, lead a team, manage complex matters, and connect authentically with clients.

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary up to $265,000, depending on experience
• Historical annual bonuses for this role have generally ranged from $20,000 to $50,000 and above, although bonuses are discretionary and not guaranteed
• No billable-hour requirement
• Employer covers 100% of the employee’s healthcare premium
• 401(k) with a 5% employer match
• Fully in-office position in Midtown Manhattan
