Job summary

DEVORE RECRUITING seeks a Senior Associate Attorney - Litigation to manage a caseload defending physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. You will lead client relations, strategy, communications, and risk assessment while mentoring associates and collaborating with partners.

The ideal candidate has extensive civil defense and medical malpractice litigation experience, is California-licensed, and excels in trial readiness, strategy, and negotiation.

Qualifications

• A minimum of ten (10) years of legal experience, preferably in civil defense.
• A minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice.
• Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent physicians, hospitals, and healthcare professionals in depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Develop client relationships, including insurance carriers, hospitals, and physicians.
• Serve as first- or second-chair trial counsel with persuasive trial themes and examinations.
• Lead trial preparation and develop comprehensive case strategies.
• Provide strategic guidance on liability exposure, jury appeal, and trial risk.
• Mentor junior associates in deposition strategy, motions, and courtroom presentation.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure effective communication and outcomes.
