Job summary

Confidential Employer in Bastrop, Texas is seeking a litigation attorney with 5+ years of experience to handle business, property, and contract disputes. You will conduct legal research, draft pleadings, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court under the supervision of Partners.

The role requires active Texas Bar status, strong research and drafting abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple matters with deadlines while maintaining ~7 billable hours daily.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar license in good standing required.
• 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to draft high-quality litigation documents.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with business and/or property litigation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters involving business, property, contract, and related disputes.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Develop case strategies and work closely with Partners on complex and high-value matters.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel and other parties.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and other litigation-related matters.
• Manage case files, deadlines, and litigation activity from inception through resolution.
• Communicate clearly and persuasively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other involved parties.
• Monitor developments in Texas law, including the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
• Maintain approximately 7 billable hours per day.
