Job summary

Mission Recruiting, LLC is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney with 8–15 years of experience for a California-based practice. The role involves handling sophisticated trust and estate disputes, business litigation, and select civil defense matters, with the capacity to independently manage complex cases and direct discovery, depositions, motions, and trial prep.

Flexible work arrangements are available, and the client may train the right candidate for estate litigation focus.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of litigation experience.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.
• Strong discovery and motion practice experience.
• Mediation and trial preparation experience.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage sophisticated litigation matters
• Develop case strategy from inception through resolution
• Handle trust and estate disputes
• Manage business and other civil litigation matters
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Draft substantive motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Prepare for and participate in mediations
• Handle settlement negotiations
• Prepare cases for trial
• Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy and case developments
• Manage litigation deadlines and competing priorities
• Collaborate with attorneys and litigation support professionals
