Ice Miller LLP seeks a litigation attorney to join our practice in Cleveland or Columbus. Candidates should have at least five years of experience and the ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution.

The role emphasizes drafting pleadings, discovery responses, legal research, witness preparation, and taking/defending depositions, with meaningful deposition and courtroom experience highly preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong credentials.
• At least five years of litigation experience.
• Active Ohio law license.
• Strong written and oral communication, analytical and judgment skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients, shape case strategy, and lead litigation execution.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices.
• Independently manage all phases of litigation: pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, witness prep, case management.
• Take and defend depositions and prep witnesses for testimony.
• Appear in court, handle hearings, and argue motions.
• Exercise independent judgment and drive cases forward with supervision.
