Job summary

Stinson LLP in Irvine, California seeks a senior Associate Attorney with at least five years of financial services litigation experience to join our office.

The successful candidate will represent financial institutions in high-volume litigation, handle motions, depositions, hearings, ADR, and trial preparation, and work closely with partners with decades of experience.

Qualifications

  • Active California license is required.
  • Significant experience drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Experience leading e-discovery and fact development.
  • Appear in state and federal court for pre-trial matters.
  • Experience with FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC, EFTA, TILA, and UCL/UDAP.
  • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills.

Job description

Stinson LLP seeks a senior Associate Attorney with at least five years of financial services litigation experience to join our Irvine, California office.

The candidate must have experience representing financial institutions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including motion practice, depositions, hearings, alternative dispute resolution, and trial preparation. We offer a supportive and congenial team environment balanced with autonomy and hands-on experience guided by partners with decades of litigation experience.

Candidates with experience from a regional, national, or outstanding local law firm are preferred. Excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and academics are required. The successful candidate should have the following experience and/or skills:

  • Significant responsibility for analyzing, organizing, and drafting pleadings (e.g., demurrers, motions to dismiss, motions to strike, discovery motions, summary judgment motions);
  • Outstanding attention to detail;
  • Experience leading e-discovery and fact development, including propounding and responding to written discovery and taking and defending depositions;
  • Experience appearing in state and federal court for conferences, motions and other pre-trial matters;
  • Practice experience with (R)FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC, EFTA, TILA, and UCL/UDAP; and
  • Strategic and analytical skills in addressing client challenges, both legally and economically.

Active California license is required.

Our attorney compensation structure has two components: (1) a base salary and (2) a discretionary merit bonus based on performance. The base salary range for this role is $245,000- $275,000. The salary range for this position is based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The range is provided as an initial approximation at the time of posting and may vary based on the individual’s unique qualifications, experience, and any portable business. The upper end of the range represents candidates bringing portable business to Stinson.
